So maybe I fell in Love.
I love the way it smells. I love the people. I love the parks. I love the buildings. I love the U-bahn. I love the trams. I love the food. I love the gelato. I love the Danube. I love the language.
I am hearbroken to be leaving, but am so excited to experience Budapest, Prague, Salzburg, and Italy!
I spent my last day in Vienna packing and playing. I happened upon my good old friend Adrian (Day 3) in Stadt Park, the one who I had the opportunity to talk about the Gospel with, and he remembered us and asked us how our trip has been. It rocked- especially when we gave him a pass along card.
We met up with our super-cool slackline friends Fabien and Flo at their favorite burger joint- Smokey’s for a farewell dinner. You could even say we treated as if it were a last supper. It was so fun, they are so interesting to talk to and have been a great help while we’ve been here!
After dinner, we just couldn’t get ourselves to go home. We made every excuse possible not to go back. We just wanted to sit and soak up our last Vienna Sunset. I even went to stare at my latest dream camera that I looked at everyday at St. Stephan’s while waiting for Alan. Stephansplatz feels like home to me now- and I had a very hard time leaving it. Today it was packed full of vendors and street performers, which just added to the magic. I even had a hard time taking the U3 back to Westbanhof- who knew I could get so attached to a subway line?! Our next excuse not to go home was to say farewell to the cute bakery boy in the train station.
My heart truly beats for Vienna.
